Rockal
Rockal rockwool blocks provide a high-quality rockwool alternative for hydroponic and indoor cultivation. The Cubes are a good size for transition planting or finishing small plants, and they feature a standard-size rockwool macro-plug cutout for easy transplanting of seedling starts. We offer these rockwool blocks for sale individually so you can purchase the right amount to fit your needs.
Loose Rockwool Fibre is bonded loose wool used for packaging cavities of irregular dimensions. The density of
wool to be used depends on the thermal conductivity required. Thermal conductivity will be the same as other
Tombo Rockwool products of the same density. it’s also used as a helping material in the agriculture process
Used for general purpose insulation, agricultural uses ,expansion re- lief packing cavities of brickwork in furnaces, ovens and many other items of industrial equipment. It is highly suitable especially where preformed insulation is difficult to apply.
Comfort in handling. Preventing algae growth. Preventing roots and diseases from moving easily from slab to slab. Minimizing evaporation. Enabling full saturation of the slabs before use. Controlling/directing the water-run off from the slabs.
Packed in 25kg bags. Other packaging weight is available on request.
Non combustible.
Compatible with all forms of material with which it is likely to come in contact in normal industrial and building applications. Non Corrosive – ASTM C795
Water-Repellent, non-hygroscopic, non-capillary and does not absorb any moisture from the air. Moisture has no effect on the stability of the product.
Rot-proof, non-hygroscopic, will not sustain vermin and will not encourage growth of bacteria, mould or fungi.
The density of the wool depends upon the compression resistance for a particular application. The following are typical figures of thermal conductivities:
Colour: Light Yellow
Material form : Wool Fibre
Basic chemical content : SiO2, CaO, Al2O3, MgO2
Bulk Density : Approx 40kg/m3
Diametre of Fibre : 3.0 – 4.0 (um)
Length of Fibre : Less than 1 (mm)
Length of Fibre : Less than 4.0 (% by weight)
pH : 9.0 – 10.0
Service Temperature : Up to 450°C
Moisture Content : 0.1 – 0.5
Mean Temp °C | k-value W/mk60 kg/m3 | k-value W/mk80 kg/m3 |
100 | 0.045 | 0.044 |
200 | 0.070 | 0.059 |
300 | 0.109 | 0.097 |
400 | 0.160 | 0.138 |
