SBS Pre Applied Membrane
ROCKAL SBS pre-applied waterproofing membranes are polymer modified bituminous sheet waterproofing membrane systems designed for blindside waterproofing applications.
SBS-Modified bitumen consists of bitumen with a synthetic rubber modification, adding styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) offering a ‘sticky’ melt which increases the hotter it gets. This lack of liquid flow means it takes less heat to install and allows a faster installation . SBS systems can also be installed with cold adhesive on projects where open flames are not permitted.
ROCKAL SBS Pre-applied membranes are designed for use in blind side waterproofing. They are engineered to be installed before the construction of a foundation wall, making it ideal for sites where exterior access is limited. This membrane is applied directly to a prepared substrate, such as shotcrete or sheet piling, creating a watertight barrier that bonds to the concrete as it is poured. The membrane forms a continuous, durable layer that prevents water intrusion and withstands hydrostatic pressure, ensuring long-term protection and reliability for below-grade structures.
Reinforcement
ROCKAL SBS waterproofing membranes are created with non-woven polyester fabric and fiberglass filaments. This reinforcement provides Very high tensile strength, excellent elongation properties and good dimensional stability to the membrane and waterproofing system.
Surface Finish
The surface finish of a bituminous membrane refers to the final appearance of the membrane and it can protect the outer surface of the membrane from outside elements. The surface finish can have an impact on the overall aesthetic of the waterproofing system if the membrane is exposed, as well as its performance. Some common types of surface finishes for bituminous membranes include:

Sand finish: a rough, textured surface that helps to increase the coefficient of friction and improve slip resistance, Specially (White/Yellow)

Granulated finish: a surface that is covered with small, granulated particles, typically made of a durable material such as aluminum oxide. This finish provides a high level of slip resistance and UV stability. Available in colors (Red, Grey, Green)

Smooth finish: a smooth surface that provides a sleek, modern appearance, but may have lower slip resistance compared to other finishes.
The choice of surface finish depends on the specific requirements of the waterproofing system, such as the desired level of slip resistance and other physical properties.
