Rock wool Pipe Sections

Rock wool pipe section is a type of insulation material made from rock minerals (such as basalt and slag) that have been melted at high temperatures and then spun into fibers. Rock wool pipe section is commonly used to insulate pipes and ductwork in building and HVAC systems.

Rock wool Pipe Sections

Description:

ROCKAL Performed Pipe Section are made of rock wool fibers spun from molten basaltic rocks bonded together by a thermo-setting resin binder.

The fibers are molded around the pipes of different standard diameter at the required thickness and dried to form rigid hollow cylinder insulation, which then is linearly slit to allow easy installation.

Application:

  • ROCKAL Performed Pipe Section is used over a very wide range of temperatures to insulate all sizes of cold and hot piping. Like domestic water in buildings and chemical process such as in oil refineries, chemical and Petro-chemical insulation and desalination plants, HVAC chilled water systems, oil pipelines.
  • ROCKAL Pipe Section used as acoustic insulation of pipelines where gas fluids or solid particles are transferred in high velocities.
  • ROCKAL Performed Pipe Section is used as a fireproof insulation for pipes and ducts in high-risk areas

Facing:

ROCKAL Rock wool Pipe Section comes non-faced or faced with reflective vapor barrier material (Reinforced Aluminum foil FSK).

Advantages:

  • Fire-resistant: Rockal Rock wool pipe section has a high melting point and is able to withstand high temperatures, making it an excellent choice for fireproof insulation.
  • Moisture-resistant: Rockal Rock wool is a hydrophobic material, meaning it is resistant to moisture and will not absorb water, which can lead to mold and other moisture-related problems.
  • Energy efficient: Rockal Rock wool provides excellent insulation properties, helping to reduce energy costs and improve the energy efficiency of a building.
  • Environmentally friendly: Rockal Rock wool is made from natural, abundant minerals and is produced using renewable energy sources, making it a more environmentally responsible choice than some other types of insulation.

Fire Safety:

ROCKAL Rock wool fibers products are classified as Non-Combustible materials and follow the fire safety rating achievements:

  • Class 1 Surface spread of flame in accordance to BS 476
  •  Class 0 in accordance to BS 476
  •  Class A1 in accordance to European Standards
  •  Surface burning characteristics in accordance to ASTM E-84
  •  Fire Spread Index: Less than 10
  •  Smoke Developed Index: Less than 25
